Emma and Mommy

I LOVE having Emma crawl into my lap for cuddles; it’s definitely one of my favorite things!

It reminds me of passages in the Bible that explain that if earthly parents love their children so much, how much MORE God loves us, His beloved children. I am (without a doubt) an imperfect parent; yet God is a perfect Parent, the most loving Father we will ever know.

How much MORE does God love it when we go to Him for comfort?

Ducks

As many of you already know, Taylor loves ducks. Our sweet cousin, who was our wonderful babysitter while we were in central CA, actually bought two baby ducks for our girls to play with. She named the bigger one Taylor and the smaller one Emma. When she came over with the ducks, the girls were thrilled! After a while, we banned Emma from holding the ducks, as she seemed to want to squeeze the little things way too tightly! Taylor, however, after learning how to be gentle with the ducks, couldn’t get enough of holding them. She wanted to see them every day and when she did see them, she held at least one the entire time (sometimes both at the same time!), carrying them around just like a stuffed animal. Here are some pictures…

One day, while I was at a meeting and B-House was watching the girls, Taylor slipped away unnoticed. She was playing in the front yard of the house we were living in. The house belonged to our cousins and was on their property. Before B-House noticed she was missing, she came back with the ducks from our cousins’ house! He was completely astonished that she had run all that way and back by herself! Nothing could keep her from those ducks! 🙂

Thank you, cousin Rebecca, for these wonderful memories!

A Date With Daddy

Taylor went on her first date with B-House this year. They went to see the Veggie Tales movie, “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything” (note to parents of young children: this movie is a bit scary!). He drove her about 20 miles to the last theater in central CA that was still playing this movie and they had a great time! Here are a few fun pictures of our excited girl…

After the movie, B-House took Taylor to an arcade in the mall next to the movie theater. They “played” air hockey. 🙂

We’re Back!

Hooray! I am glad to be back “online” and blogging once again! Thank you for being patient! I have so much to “show and tell” and hope to post often to get you all caught up on the latest happenings of our small family.

Look who has 3 teeth now! 🙂

Well, perhaps the picture is too small, but Emma has 3 bottom teeth! She’s also crawling and loves a crawling challenge, such as climbing on top of pillows. We are sad to report that the five chubby rolls down her arms are quickly turning into just three chubby rolls (or “muscles” as Courtney likes to call them!). Emma loves balloons, making music on a recorder (a small instrument), and drinking from her sister’s straw cup. She just turned one year old 2 weeks ago.

Taylor turned 3 years old this last week and is constantly asking us, “What are you doing? What is he doing? What is she doing? What is it doing?” She is a curious, imaginative toddler who loves being outdoors, playing with ducks (especially real ones!), and going to Disneyland (or talking about Disneyland when she can’t be there!). At times she’ll call me “mommy duck” or “mommy frog.” I’m trying not to take these names personally. 🙂

And my good husband is still taking beautiful pictures , getting involved in evangelism wherever he can, and delighting in his family of girls.

Life is exciting, challenging, full, and good. God is good all the time.
