We have found Emma to wear numerous expressions, many of which, to our delight, have been captured by camera! Here’s a glimpse of our expressive gal…

– worried –

– sneaky –

– impatient –

– secretive –

– challenging –

Then and Now

Before we got married, B-House and I got our picture taken at California Disney. Here’s the two of us lovebirds more than 7 years ago…

And here’s the old married couple in the same spot just a few weeks ago!…

We look just the same, right? Right? 🙂

Grandpa

I don’t think I’ve posted enough pictures of my dad on this blog. He enjoys seeing his granddaughters and is used to little girls, having had 2 of his own (my sister and me). He works hard and is on the city council where he lives. He also likes to golf, read, garden, and attend USC football games. Here he is with us at Biola, where he met us for lunch a few weeks ago…

Can you see the resemblance? 🙂

Potty-Training

We are trying to potty-train Taylor right now (she’s 3 years old already!). She’s really only interested in the idea of it right now; however, someone else seems very interested…

Disneyland

Taylor’s favorite place and favorite thing to talk about is Disneyland. We try to go there every Wednesday morning, but have just a few more weeks until our passes are “blocked out” for the summer. It’s been really fun to go to Disneyland when the crowds are small and the lines short. We get there when it opens and leave for home around 11:45. Then we can eat lunch at home and still put the girls to bed for their afternoon naps! Here are a few pictures of our morning at Disneyland this week…

The girls and I went to a bakery outlet in town this week and, for just $10.68, bought all of this bread! Can you believe it?! I couldn’t!

We bought 4 loaves of bread, 2 packages of hamburger buns, 2 packages of french rolls, 1 bag of mini bagels, 1 bag of pita bread, and 1 butter loaf cake. Amazing! 🙂

Mother’s Day

Okay, I have to admit that I had mixed feelings during this year’s Mother’s Day. The girls and I stayed home from church because of their runny noses, but B-House had to work all morning at church. We tried to have a nice tea party lunch at our house with my mom, but I couldn’t seem to focus on conversation. What with trying to get Emma to eat something (we ended up with Cheerios – my good eater becomes picky when she’s sick) and trying to make sure Taylor didn’t eat all the chocolate-dipped strawberries (later I learned she was giving the strawberries to my mom after first sucking off all the chocolate), I became a bit frazzled. The company was great – my husband was kind, my mom was enthusiastic, and the girls were fairly good (considering their discomfort) – but I was…well…frazzled.

The only consolation is seeing the hilarious pictures B-House took of us moms and daughters. I have to share…

I should say here that neither of the girls wanted to have a Mother-Daughter “photo shoot.” I should also confess that, in the next picture, I am not putting a motherly hand on my eldest daughter’s back. Rather, I am holding her by the back of her dress so that she won’t run away…

This last picture is the only one worthy of being put in the family scrapbook…

Whew! What a day! 🙂

We bought a swing for the girls from Target and it’s become one of their favorite things to do.

What happened, Emma?

I’m sorry I’ve been gone so long! The girls are sick! 😦

I wanted to post some pictures from a family mini-vacation that we took a couple of months ago. It was a vacation on a budget and turned out to be the best trip we’ve ever taken as a family of four! We stayed in our friends’ guest room for 3 nights and saw as many sights as we could see in 4 days. Our friends’ house was beautiful and they are a lovely couple that B-House met on missions trips to Albania and Macedonia.

Here we are visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium…

Taylor was very excited to finally see real jellyfish…

The next day we went to San Francisco. It was Emma’s 1st birthday!

After seeing the famous bridge, we went to see Lombard Street…

For Emma’s birthday treat, we went to Ghiradelli Square for some ice-cream. Unfortunately, she fell asleep after we ordered the sundae…

We also rode a cable car…

and visited Alamo Park…

The next day we went to Carmel…

and Santa Cruz…

On our last day, we visited my cousins in San Jose. We had such a fun time with them that I forgot to use my camera! All in all, it was a wonderful and memorable trip!
